As the final days of 2025 fade away (hopefully smoother than an LED fade-effect), I find myself looking at the calendar and realizing something incredible: Mischianti.org is officially 7 years old!
They say the “seven-year itch” is when things get difficult, but for us? It was just another year of debugging, soldering, and occasionally asking, “Why is that chip getting so hot?”
This year has been an absolute whirlwind of innovation and troubleshooting. Before we jump into 2026, let’s take a moment to laugh at our struggles and celebrate our victories.
2025: The Year of “Smart” Everything
Looking back at the chaos of 2025, we really pushed the boundaries of what hobbyist electronics can do:
- The RISC-V Revolution: We embraced the new architectures (ESP32-C6, anyone?). We learned that just because the code compiles, doesn’t mean the pinout matches.
- AI on the Edge: We tried to cram Artificial Intelligence into tiny microcontrollers. Sometimes it recognized our voice commands; other times, it just turned on the blender at 3 AM. We call that “Machine Learning with character.”
- The Eternal LoRa Struggle: We continued our quest for long-range communication. We learned—yet again—that physics is stubborn and that antennas actually need to be connected to work.
