Hi,
I’m researching stores on Aliexpress to buy EBYTE modules. To avoid buying counterfeit modules, is there an indication of a store on Aliexpress that sells original modules?
I found these two stores:
EBYTE IOT Factory Store
Link: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/911030040?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.f0443c002AT2tw
CDEBYTE IoT Module Store
Link: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/5489003?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.f0443c002AT2tw
Does anyone know if they sell original EBYTE modules?
Thanks
Hi George,
I buy modules from that two stores, and all modules are original. Select the less expensive.
I add a small selection of the cheapest devices on the article pages.
Bye Renzo
I have some recent experience that might be relevant.
I bought a number of E22-900T30DC and E22-90022DC from Cojxu Official Store on Aliexpress. The modules seem to communicate and function correctly (quite good range).
I was interested in reverse-engineering the SPI between the MCU and the SX1262 LoRa chip. When I have removed the metal shield from one of each, they had a single ASR-6505 LoRa chip (which includes an integrated general MCU, so no stand-alone MCU as I expected). This is not a genuine Semtech chip as Ebyte claim on their website and manual. Possibly ASR are licenced by Semtech – but Ebyte state they use actual Semtech, which is not the case in these modules. So I am guessing they are fakes, not made by ebyte.
I bought a couple of E32-433T30D 1B from CDSENET Official Store also – these had separate MCU / LoRa chip, but the LoRa chip had all markings removed – so probably not genuine Semtech either.
My next module purchase will be from CDEbyte, Ebyte’s actual shop on Aliexpress – hopefully they will be the genuine article.
